Universal Studios Hollywood has always been a great way to get an idea of how movies are made in a fun filled way. The theme park has some of the best movie attractions anywhere in the world including “Revenge of the Mummy The Ride”, “Shrek 4D”, Jurassic Park The Ride and the Studio Tour which take you behind the scenes of blockbuster such as “War of the Worlds” The new King Kong 360 3D Ride that is based on Oscar Winner Peter Jackson’s film is a complete makeover for the new 3D age and Universal Studios spared no expense. The ride incorporates some of the latest and advanced technology to create the world’s largest multi-sensory 3D experience.
The tram ride takes you into Skull Island where you are completely surrounded 360 degrees by the world’s largest 3-D projection installation ever produced. The screens measures 187 feet wide by 40 feet high which is the equivalent of 16 movie theatre screens and takes the shape of two seamless and curved screens to deliver an immersive and exhilarating ride through skull island. The screens are also ultra high definition that project at 60 frames per second to display an artifact free and fluid picture. The tram jolts back and forth as you are caught in the middle of King Kong’s fight with an enormous T-Rex.
The Attraction has already racked up ‘Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project’ by the Visual Effects Society which is a first for ever for a theme park attraction and made the Los Angeles Daily News’ list of top 10 movies of 2010.
