Do you love all things sci-fi, fantasy, and horror? If so, come out to the annual Los Angeles Times Hero Complex Festival on May 30th– June 1st at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood! At this event, you will be able to see screenings of classic cult films and even have Q&A sessions with various people who worked on the movies, from directors to the stars themselves. This event is must see if you love classic sci-fi, fantasy, and horror films! While staying in the Hollywood area, film lovers of these various genres are welcome to attend this festival and experience all of the fun it offers!
On Friday, starting this year’s Hero Complex Festival off, is the 10th anniversary Fan Event – a screening of the sci-fi classic, Battlestar Galactica – The Original Miniseries. Special guests will be the writer and producer, Ronald D. Moore and Bear McCreary who was the composer. Actors that will be in attendance include Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Jamie Bamber, and Katee Sackhoff. On Saturday, there will be an advanced screening of Dreamworks’ How to Drain Your Dragon 2. Afterward, stay and talk with writer/director Dean DeBlois and actor Jay Baruchel who voices Hiccup and America Ferrara who voices Astrid. This screening will start at 11:00am.
Later in the day, there will be a screening of the class cult film, Gremlins, which came out in 1984. Director Joe Dante will be guest starring in this film. And finally, at the end of the day, get ready for an evening with The Terminator as there will be a back to back screening of The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Writer and director James Cameron will be in attendance and there will be a Q&A afterward. On Sunday, there will be a screening of the hilarious Monty Python and the Holy Grail followed by a double screening of the incredibly popular, Alien and Aliens. Sigourney Weaver will be in attendance and will be available for Q&A. Tickets are sold for each individual event.
