Check out Los Angeles’ Newest Haunted Houses!

Now that it’s officially October, it’s time to start thinking about Halloween! This is a great month to take advantage of hotel specials in Hollywood, as there are a few brand new haunted houses opening in Los Angeles this year. Read below for details on haunted attractions to thrill your senses all month long.

 Blumhouse of Horrors

From the producer of “Paranormal Activity” and “Sinister” comes a brand new haunted house in downtown Los Angeles! The Blumhouse of Horrors in set in a haunted building: the 87-year-old Variety Arts Theatre.  The 40-minute tour tells the story of a magician whose final performance ended with his mysterious disappearance onstage along with another man’s wife. The haunted house is open from 6pm to midnight on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays now until November 3. It will also be open October 29 through October 31. Tickets are $29 online. At the door tickets are $35. VIP tickets are priced at $55.

Blackout Haunted House

New York’s popular attraction is coming to Los Angeles for the 2012 Halloween season!  Visitors must pass through the completely dark maze alone with only a mask and a flashlight to protect them. It promises a “tactile experience” involving all the senses that will stay in your mind all evening. Visitors will also encounter fog, strobe lights, crawling, stairs, loud noises, water, sexual and violent situations. Only adults over 18 can attend. Tickets are $35 on school nights and $45 on weekends. Blackout Haunted House will be open October 20-21, 23-31 and November 1-4. Performance times every hour from 7-10pm with an additional 6pm slot on the weekend.

Hell Break LA

Located on Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood, this new event is a post-apocalyptic prison bursting with inmates dying to escape. There appears to be a haunted prison and maze set in the abandoned Sears building. Hell Break LA promises a “high-scare, high startle” experience too intense for children under 8 years of age. The attraction opens this week on October 11 until October 31. Kids hours are 1pm to 5pm on weekends. Regular hours are 7pm to 1am. On Halloween, Hell Break LA will be open from 2pm to 1am. Tickets are $35 per person. Kids tickets are $20 + half off for parents. You can get access to both the prison and haunted maze for $42. VIP tickets are $55. Buy your tickets early online today as it’s $5 more to buy at the door!
