The Italian American Museum will host the 3rd Annual Taste of Italy on Saturday October 1, 2011. The event will take place at the 1869 Pico House and its cobblestones. The event will feature some of the regions most authentic Italian and Italian American Restaurants and several wineries and purveyors will also be in attendance. A really great part about this event is that it will benefit the Italian American Museum of Los Angeles which is a non-profit organization. The Museum is an iconic place for Italian Americans in the city of Los Angeles; it has served as a focal point for many social and community events.
If you have never been to Taste of Italy before you are served sample sized portions or “tastes” as the name implies. You also will get to “taste” a two ounce pour of wine or a four-ounce pour of beer. There will be Italian American wineries sampling their wines as well as two wine seminars: the Wines of Marche and the Wines of Piemonte. The restaurants that will be here are top notch and some have been awarded Italy’s highest culinary award; the Marchio Ospitalita Italiana. There will also be some really tasty Italian food trucks and local restaurants to appeal to your tastes. Don’t worry there will be entertainment to help you enjoy the food and alcohol. Joyce Garro and Lou Giovanetti will be performing and set the event off right.
